When it comes to cleaning, sometimes the most effective way isn’t always the most obvious way. Whether at work or at home, if you’ve got something that you find super difficult to clean, take a look at our cleaning hacks below and we may just have the answer for you.

Taps and Shower Head Cleaning

Tired of that build-up of limescale and grime on the taps or showerhead? Save yourself that endless scrubbing and break it down over time. Simply fill a sandwich bag with white vinegar and secure it over the tap/shower head with an elastic band. Leave it for a few hours, remove the bag and give it a wipe. Do this once a week and you’ll never need to scrub that shower head or tap ever again!

Glitter/Sand/Broken glass embedded in carpets or rugs

Sometimes, no matter how good your vacuum cleaner is there may be some bits that you just can’t get out of the pile. Glitter is a big offender if you’re in a classroom or creative type office, so is sand and even small pieces of broken glass… so when the hoover won’t do the job, where do you go? BLUE-TAC! Roll a large ball of Blue-Tac along the affected area of the carpet or rug and you’ll see that it makes quick work of those annoying little bits that you just cannot get rid of!

Baked on grease and grime in the kitchen

It often gets hot in the kitchen (obviously) and so grease and grime can get effectively baked on. Much like with our shower head/taps cleaning hack… this one takes the scrubbing out of the equation. In a bowl, mix baking soda and water into a paste (a similar consistency to toothpaste. Spread this onto the worst affected areas (inside ovens/above hobs) and rub it in. Then leave it for 24 hours and wipe away using a damp cloth – at this point you’ll notice that most of the grease and grime comes away. Repeat this method a few times and your previously greasy kitchen will be sparkling – without the need for scrubbing!
